Spur ISD End of Year Calendar

Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank your for all you are doing to help your student and Spur ISD finish the year strong.  I know this has not been easy but it is your dedication to working with your students while we go through this weird situation that has made the transition work.  I am so thankful to the staff at Spur ISD for everything they have done as well.  Without this awesome combination I know we would have truly struggled to make the best out of a tough situation.  Below you will see the calendar of events for the rest of the school year.  Hopefully we can get back to normal (whatever that may be) as soon as possible.  Please stay safe

Thank You and God Bless you,  Craig Hamilton

Let your DREAMS be bigger than your FEARS,

your ACTIONS louder than your WORDS, and

your FAITH stronger than your FEELINGS!.

May 22, 2020 Graduation:  Currently we are still planning for Graduation on May 22, 2020 at 7:00 PM for our Seniors.  We are finalizing plans and will submit those plans for approval to Dickens County Judge Brendle and Mayor Jones of Spur.  We are committed to doing the best job possible for these Seniors and will give them the best graduation ceremony permitted.  Please remember that this is about the students getting ‘THEIR TIME TO SHINE” and although the plans may not accommodate everyone outside of their immediate family, we are doing this for the Class of 2020.  We will let everyone know the plans as soon as everything is finalized.

6th Six Weeks Grading Policy

All work done during Quarantine will be used to decide a part of the final six weeks grading period. Work done during the 6th six weeks will be averaged with the completed 4th and 5th six weeks to give the student a final six weeks grade.  The final grade will then be added into grade book as the 6th six weeks.  Then the 4th, 5th, and 6th six weeks will be averaged for their semester grade.  Example

Distance learning work: 90

4th 6 weeks: 85

5th 6 weeks: 87

Averages out to 87

 6th 6 weeks equals 87

 Semester grade will be 86
